Chapter 4
Cling to Him, Then Bow to Him
Before we read Allah's words, we run to Him for protection from a relentless enemy. Then, after al-Fatihah, we fold into the most off-balance position in the whole prayer and call Allah the most unshakable One of all. Here is the meaning of the isti'adha, the bismillah, and the ruku'.
Chapter 5
Rise with Praise, Sit and Ask
When you stand up from ruku', you say that Allah hears you, and that praise belongs to Him alone. Then, in the tiny sit between the two sajdahs, the Prophet ﷺ gave us a small prayer that asks for almost everything a person could ever need.
